Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Shamar Lev mobile application and website (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. What Shamar Lev is

Shamar Lev is a digital wellbeing and accountability tool. It helps you set personal protection goals, reduces distractions through native platform features (Apple Screen Time / Family Controls on iOS; accessibility-based protection on Android), and connects you with a trusted Circle and Leaders for encouragement.

Not medical or professional advice. The Service provides encouragement and self-management tools only. It is not therapy, counseling, medical treatment, or crisis intervention. If you are in crisis or need clinical help, contact a qualified professional or local emergency services.

2. Your account

  • You must provide accurate registration information and keep your password secure.
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account.
  • You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction) to use the Service.
  • You may delete your account at any time from Settings or via our Account Deletion page.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Upload or share unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, or sexually exploitative content, including any content involving minors.
  • Harass, impersonate, or misrepresent your relationship to other users.
  • Attempt to circumvent protection features for malicious purposes, or interfere with the Service’s security or integrity.
  • Scrape, resell, or redistribute the Service or its content without permission.
  • Use the Service to send spam or unsolicited messages.

4. Your content

  • You own the videos, messages, and other content you create (“Your Content”).
  • By sharing Your Content with your Circle or Leaders, you grant those specific recipients a limited license to view and respond to it within the Service, according to the permissions you set.
  • You are solely responsible for Your Content and for having the rights to share it.
  • We may remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law.

5. Circle and Leader features

Circle members and Leaders can only see what you explicitly authorize. Leaders never receive your private activity, sensitive goals, or individual struggles. Invitations and permissions are controlled by you and can be revoked at any time.

6. Subscriptions and billing

  • Premium is offered as an auto-renewing subscription, optionally preceded by a free trial, purchased through Apple App Store or Google Play Billing.
  • Payment is charged to your store account at confirmation of purchase (or at the end of a free trial, if offered).
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, through your Apple or Google subscription settings.
  • If you cancel, you keep Premium access until the end of the paid period; no partial refunds are issued by us (store refund policies may apply).
  • Prices and trial offers are displayed in the app and may vary by region.

7. Protection features and platform limits

Protection relies on native platform APIs (Apple Screen Time / Family Controls; Android accessibility services). Behavior can vary by device, OS version, and platform policy, and no protection system is perfect or guaranteed to block every app or website. You remain responsible for your own device configuration and use.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, branding, and original content, is owned by Shamar Lev and protected by intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice where practical. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive (ownership, disclaimers, liability) survive termination.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shamar Lev is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for outcomes resulting from your use of (or inability to use) protection features.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email before taking effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law and contact
